Preppy?

April 5th, 2007 by knitnzu

I missed Scout’s prep contest. I scanned a bunch of old pics, I think mostly not too preppy, but there were a few! I hope you are amused.

We were all on our way to preppiness here

But then somehow within the year some of us turned into hippies! (well, not the girl in yellow behind me, check out her shoes!)

the worst of them, jr prom, 1978, a Gunne Sax dress and a sunburn

We dressed ‘nice’ for high school, no jeans. I had these big boobalas and a tiny waist. And late 1970′s? Everything clung. All I know is that I left home for college and the idea of dressing ‘nice’ went right out the door. If it was scruffy, heavy, comfortable, oversized, I thought it was great. And if it came from a thrift shop, even better. Now? I’m someplace between those extremes.

This liner is actually a bit preppy. But mostly it is soft. And the stripes let me use up the blue that I had on hand (same Taj Mahal as the green). Now we just need to get the hat to the person for whom it is intended! Here’s hoping he likes it.

Here’s my square for Julie.

We got a lot of snow today! This morning, after I’d shoveled a couple inches away yesterday, we had about 13 inches (that’s a 12 inch ruler). Then it snowed some more.

Actually, the dogs love the snow.
